After a lot of planning and hard work I am pleased to say that the Footy Fight Night was a roaring success! There are so many people to thank and if I forget anyone I apologise but I will start with the athletes who signed up to take the Football Boxing Challenge and step into the ring on the night. Jake BeddoeByron BarryMatteo LuisettoDavid AndrewTom CostiganJonathon MaddenMatty TasmanGrant ValencicMorgan HamptonReggie DiamondJames IordanidisMichael SalemMark Johnson you all applied yourselves throughout the training program, you put your trust in me and watching your skills develop over the 8 weeks was very rewarding! Lots of people talk about it, the majority will never even start trianing, then others will train for years without stepping in to fight and what you guys achieved for less than 8 weeks training was mind blowing! Thanks for your commitment and I am proud of how you all performed on the night!
I would also like to thank Gail Jackson and the rest of the catering staff for cooking up a storm for our ringside table guests, the team of event staff led by Jaak Ponsford who went above and beyond on the night making sure everything ran smoothly, Mél Anie for her assistance with promotional material, Tas for setting up the ring, Stanley Taylor for his photography skills, Paul Nardella for his sound and lighting wizardry, The team of bar staff which was led by Cal Happyfeet Byrne for keeping everyone satiated, CHOMPAMATIC, The Wolverine and The Magician for volunteering for the eating challenge, Brett and Natalie from Arm Wrestling Victoria for running the arm wrestling, Perry Cale for his emcee skills and ringmanship, Taylor Matoe and Mere Wykes for stepping up as ring girls, Boxing Victoria for sanctioning the event, Adam Nahal and Wayne Stewart for coaching the fighters on the night, Darren Hancock, Paul Lyons and Nazmi Afracan for entering their fighters on the night, Ben Horowitz for his comedy skills, @tas Hack Brewing Co. for the Pale Ale and providing the bar, Beast Fight Club for letting us train at their facility, Springers Leisure Centre for holding the event, Lauren Wallis, Rosemary Parrant and Colin Parrant for helping me with Aura over the last 8 weeks leading up to the event and to each and every member of the audience that came down on the night, you were all amazing and very supportive of the athletes and made the atmosphere absolutely electric! I hope you all had fun!
The feedback I have received from everyone has been overwhelming, I appreciate the kind words and support! Next years Footy Fight Night will be even bigger but I will now look towards planning the upcoming Almost Boxing Legends event that will be held later this year and will be open to anyone to participate so if you feel like stepping out of your comfort zone and having the Almost Boxing Legends experience then get in contact with me today! Will you take the Almost Boxing Legends Challenge?
